Defence Minister Ambrose Lufuma has charged that the insecurity in Mozambique’s Cabo Del Gado region is of serious concern to the region and that country’s neighbors.

Speaking when Tanzania National Service Commander, Major General Rajabu Mabele and his delegation paid a courtesy call on him in Lusaka today, Mr. Lufuma says it is for this reason that the region should ensure peace returns to that country.

Mr. Lufuma says there is need for countries to emulate former leaders such as the late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and Julius Mwalimu Nyerere

who ensured peace not only in their respective countries but in the region.

And Mr. Lufuma also disclosed that the Zambian government through the Zambia national service wants to incorporate programmes their counterpart in Mozambique have especially the manner they manage the volunteer school leavers recruitment.

Meanwhile, chief of the Tanzania national service commander major general Rajabu Mabele said Tanzania recruits up to 26,000 volunteers annually.

The Tanzania national service delegation is in the country for an exchange visit with the Zambia national service a month after the latter visited Tanzania.
