By Tinkerbel Mwila

Over 70 farmers of Natwange farm block in Luanshya are appealing to the government to help them continue living on farm plots that they legally obtained close to 30 years ago after an investor recently claimed ownership to the said land with title deeds.

Speaking on behalf of the other affected farmers, Moses Mumba says the farmers are demanding 150 out of the 220 hectares because this is what will be enough for them to

occupy and continue with their farming activities.

Mr. Mumba says the farmers will fight for what belongs to them if they bring these wrangles to the attention of President Hakainde Hichilema.

This came to light when Luanshya Central Member of Parliament Lusale Simbao visited the farmers to appreciate their challenges.

And Luanshya Central Member of Parliament Lusale Simbao said the investor who is claiming ownership of the land has agreed to release 100 hectares of land to the farmers.
