OMCS CALL FOR EXPEDITING OF FEASIBILITY STUDIES OF BILATERAL OIL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

By Tinkerbel Mwila

The Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia is calling on government to expedite the feasibility studies of the bilateral oil infrastructure projects.

The project is aimed at building a pipeline to transport oil byproducts from the Lobito refinery in Angola to the Zambian capital, Lusaka.

Association president Dr. Kafula Mubanga says the 1,400 kilometers Lobito pipeline from

Angola to Lusaka project will help in the moving of finished products from various countries at a cheaper cost.

Mr. Mubanga explains that this will also help the country to be secured and self-reliant in crude oil.

The Angola/Zambia oil pipeline is a proposed oil pipeline that would run from the proposed Lobito refinery in Angola to Lusaka.
