The Choma Chamber of Commerce is appealing to the government to consider increasing the validity of a driver’s license from the current 5 to 10 years.

Chamber Vice president Evans Chisenga wants government to segment the issuance of drivers’ licenses in age groups with drivers who are still youthful to have their licenses extended to 10

years while the 5 years period should be given to those who are above 60 years.

Mr. Chisenga has also requested the national road fund agency relaxes toll gate charges given to taxi drivers.

He said taxi drivers frequently use toll gates than any other motorist hence the need to give them a special toll gate charge.
