Sinazongwe Constituency Member of Parliament Gift Sialubalo is shocked that a Chinese mining investor is allegedly conniving with a few village headmen in the allocation of land for investment without following proper procedures.

Mr Sialubalo says some people masquerading as representatives of chief Mweemba have been receiving money in form of compensation from a coal mining company that is intending to invest in Tekelo Ward of Sinazongwe without engaging the subjects.

He has explained that an investor was advised to compensate the villagers, build a school, clinic, and dam where

people will be relocated but has not fulfilled the demands.

Mr Sialubalo has also warned traditional leaders masquerading as representatives of chief Mweemba to stop.

But chairperson of the Mweemba Chiefdom Royal Council Charles Mudenda said the headmen who got money from the investor were forced by someone who was masquerading as a representative from the palace.

A Chinese firm called African coal-powered company is expected to displace over 50 households to pave way for the setting up of a mining industry at Siapubwe village of chief Mweemba chiefdom in Sinazongwe district.
