SAMPA THE GREAT FIRST ZAMBIAN TO GRACE COACHELLA

Sampa The Great and her all Zambian band are the First Zambian Act to perform at America’s biggest music festival Coachella. Coachella is an annual atrs and music festival held at the empire Polo club in Indio, California, in the Coachella valley in Colorado desert.

The festival which hasn’t taken place since 2019 after being moved in 2021 to this year. It had performances by More African acts who grace the infamous stage, including South Africa’s Black Coffee , Rwanda’s Stromae, and Benin’s AMEME. This year’s festival hosts some

big-name performers, namely Doja Cat (born to a South African father), 21 Savage, Megan thee Stallion, Big Sean, Lil Baby, and more. Ye (Kanye West), Billie Eilish, and Harry Styles will headline the festival set to take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Coachella 2022 is from April 15-April 17 and April 22-24.

Sampa the Great had assembled an Avengers level team with Tio Nason & Mwanjé Tembo on vocals, Lazarus “Lalo” Zulu as Music Director and keyboardist, Sammy Masta on guitar and Kasonde ‘Tek1’ Sunkutu on drums.
