ZESCO Limited and the Copperbelt Energy Corporation –CEC- have commenced initials that will culminate into the renewing of the Bulk Power Supply Agreement-BSA.
The earlier bulk supply agreement expired on October 31st, 2020 and the two companies failed to reach an agreement for the renewal of the agreement.

Speaking in Lusaka yesterday at the exchange of initials, CEC Chief Executive Officer Owen Silavwe described the two years gap the companies separated as challenging in so many areas.
Mr. Silavwe is happy CEC and ZESCO Limited are in the process of renewing the bsa adding that his organization believes in seeing to it that zambia

develops.

And Zesco Limited Managing Director Victor Mapani said the agreement is a key component in all transactions the two companies will venture into and that the power utility company cannot survive without CEC.
Zesco Limited supplies fifty percent of its production to the company which is later sold to mining companies and other countries.

And Director for Energy in the Ministry of Energy Arnold Simwaba said government will support the agreement the two companies are about to enter into as it wants to create a conducive environment for all players especially as it continues with the vision of becoming the hub of electricity in the region.
